Brokenlore: DON’T LIE is an immersive, psychological-horror adventure where you step into the tumultuous mind of Junko, a young woman tethered to reality by only the thinnest strands. A spin-off of the BrokenLore saga set in the same universe as Don’t Watch.
The entire game is experienced in first-person, alternating between narrative sections inside Junko’s claustrophobic bedsit and hallucinatory sequences in warped liminal spaces that mirror her mental state.
The first-person narrative plunges players into claustrophobic environments, chilling hallucinations, and warped liminal spaces. Unique to the experience is Fantasy Boy, a playable 90s-inspired side-scroller that collides with Junko’s reality, building a haunting contrast and profound sense of unease. Every lie, every decision, alters the fragile tapestry of Junko’s reality.
The narrative draws heavily on Japanese folklore, particularly the myth of the Hooded Dodomeki—a yokai covered with many eyes as a punishment for deceit. This serves as an atmospheric and thematic backbone to the story, highlighting themes of lying, perception, and transformation that are central to Junko’s journey.
