Warhammer 40,000: Speed Freeks FAQ
Heard about Warhammer 40,000: Speed Freeks? Got Questions? We’ll update the FAQ below regulary over the next two weeks:
Why has the publisher changed?
It’s a strategic decision that aligns with the future goals and ambitions of Warhammer 40,000: Speed Freeks.
I’m an early access player, what happens with my game?
You keep the game in your library for free, and get to play it 🙂
Where do I now go for customer support?
If you’re experiencing bugs or issues with the game, please contact Wired support at support@wiredproductions.com.
What exactly will the full 1.0 release contain?
More details will come with the day of SKULLS on May 22nd, but the 1.0 launch version of Speed Freeks has a bunch of new content, a new mode, and player-hosted games with a game browser. We’re very excited about these changes and think the community will love them
How do I spend my in-game currency (Teef)?
You can click the “Mek Shop” tab at the top of the main menu to find items you can purchase with remaining Teef from the game’s early access period. Once all your Teef are spent, the store will no longer appear in the menu.
Why did you remove in game currency?
We’re vastly reducing the number of things that can be purchased in the game and instead adding them to the base game to unlock. For that reason, we don’t see any need for an in-game shop or in-game currency.
I’ve not played yet, why can’t I download the game right now?
The game isn’t available for download right now because our Early Access period has ended. We’re gearing up for the big 1.0 launch on May 22nd, where you’ll be able to purchase and enjoy the full version. Thanks for your patience and excitement about the upcoming release!
How much will the game cost?
We’ll launch with a discounted price of just $15.99, and the base price of the game will be $19.99.
I’m a current player, how do I get my free game?
You don’t have to do anything if you’ve already downloaded the game. Speed Freeks will remain in your library and update to the launch version on May 22nd. All progress will carry over, alongside new features (including offline play), new maps, new cosmetics, and a new vehicle: the Trukk! Tune in to the Skulls event for more info.
Does the purchase of the game include any cosmetics, or are they all purchased separately?
Purchasing the game allows you to unlock over 170 cosmetics – 70 which were available in Early Access, and 100 more in the launch version. A much smaller number will be available to purchase individually through Steam. There is no longer a mix of paid and free cosmetics as part of the in-game progression, they are all included with the purchase of the game – and we’ve added plenty more to the 1.0 version that players can enjoy.
