Announcing Black Label #02 – The Town Of Light

Today, following off the back of the response to our very first Black Label release (Victor Vran) – we are proud to announce the very next entry in the Black Label Series – The Town Of Light!

The Black Label is a reflection of the way Wired Productions curates its games. It is a celebration of art, music and most importantly; the teams behind each release and their ethos and experiences. Limited to a maximum of 2,500 units, each is beautifully crafted and carefully selected to spotlight one of the many eclectic games Wired published from developers we love.

Based on extensive research and inspired by real events, The Town of Light is a first-person psychological story adventure game set in the Volterra Psychiatric Asylum, based in Tuscany, Italy. Explore the asylum as it stands to this day and uncover the good and bad in human nature. The pre-order window for the #02 edition of Black Label starts August 17th and closes August 31st.

Black Label #02 includes:

  • THE TOWN OF LIGHT PS4 enclosed in the limited Black Label variant inlay and sleeve.
  • Stunning art prints hand-chosen by LKA developer founder Luca Dalcò.
  • A CD and Digital Download soundtrack by acclaimed artist and musician Aseptic Void.
  • A Wired Razor authenticity card–individually numbered.
  • An iconic razor cut Alu-dibondart print.
  • Collectable trading cards from the Wired Productions collection.
  • All housed in a bespoke high-end Black Label silver box wrapped in the Wired Razor Sleeve–a black finish with an embossed tattoo motif.

For Wired Productions, there has been no game that has had a bigger impact to the business greater than The Town of Light. It changed not only the type of game Wired signs, but really kick started a movement within the company that led to some of the team co-founding the now global video games mental health charity Safe In Our World. From the first time the publishing team played a demo of the title, they were shocked, in awe and knew instantly that this was a game that needed to be played.

This challenged the whole team to evaluate the games Wired scouts; from not just the big blockbusters, but to those smaller indie games that deserved more players, or who needed support to get their story told. Its deep roots in historic facts, its personal story and the way it truly made the player think, long after gameplay had finished, was like nothing the team had played. Its journey to publishing saw the teams collaborate on video shoots, press tours of the very real building in Tuscany, Italy and a global campaign to raise player awareness around mental health. Close to five years later, Wired and LKA collaborated again with the release of Martha Is Dead, a title which continues the almost cinematic story telling the studio has now become famous for.

We expect to ship 4 months after our pre-orders close and will communicate clearly delivery times. If you live in the US you can pre-order direct (& cheaper!) from our friends at Limited Run Games!
