Soundtrack Secrets Revealed for KARMA: The Dark World
Soundtrack Secrets Revealed for KARMA: The Dark World
Update: The Steam Daily Deal is now live HERE!
KARMA: The Dark World is turning the volume up on its twisted psyche again, this time by putting its score and sound design firmly in the spotlight. The newly released Behind the Scenes mini‑doc peels back the curtain on how composer and audio director Geng Li built a soundscape that crawls under your skin, then quietly refuses to leave.
This isn’t just “background music”. Across nearly four hours of original compositions, Li’s work swings from fragile, character‑focused motifs to full‑blown orchestral hits that crash in at the worst (best) possible moments. Silence does as much heavy lifting as strings or drums, with long, tense gaps that make every distant footstep, radio hiss, or whispered breath feel like a threat.

The journey behind the score is just as ambitious as the game itself. Orchestral sessions were recorded in Hungary, while drums and select instruments were tracked in Japan, before everything was pulled together and finished in the United States. That global process mirrors KARMA’s scale and helped the team lean hard into the game’s psychological horror roots and surreal, Lynchian edge.
KARMA’s music has already picked up a World Soundtrack Awards Game nomination, and Black Razor Records has carried it beyond the game through the official soundtrack and the Into the Mist EP. With a Steam Daily Deal dropping the price by 45% for a limited time, from 6pm GMT TODAT! There has never been a better excuse to step into Daniel McGovern’s fractured mind and hear what all the noise, and all the uneasy quiet, is about.
What is KARMA: The Dark World?
You play Daniel McGovern, an elite Roam Agent tasked with mind-diving into the fractured memories of suspects. But what begins as investigative procedure curdles into a conspiracy that forces him to question whether the secrets he’s hunting are inside his targets… or inside himself.
Built on Unreal Engine 5, the game is a kaleidoscope of Lynchian dread, Kojima-style mind games, and Nolan-esque paradoxes, an interactive fever dream where reality folds in on itself and paranoia becomes the air you breathe.
KARMA: The Dark World is available now on Steam, PlayStation Store, GOG, Xbox SeriesX|S and EPIC.
You can also listen to the full soundtrack on the Black Razor Records Bandcamp. Use the code ‘KarmaOST’ to save 45% off the full OST in high fidelity audio formats.
