During Mental Health Month, Safe In Our World is encouraging everyone to talk – as this is the first step to getting support, after all we are safer together.
The Safer Together fundraiser is looking to raise money for future initiatives which will allow Safe In our World to continue their mission of eliminating the stigma surrounding mental health within the video games industry and its communities, so that every player and employee feels safe to reach out for help.
For the first week of May, Safe In Our World will be celebrating their community, and the power of social games by having 7 days of Safe In Our World Streams, beginning on Saturday 1st May.
Wired Productions will be hosting a Safe In Our World Community Stream on Tuesday 4th May, where we will be exploring the universe in No Mans Sky over on the #WiredLive channel from 7pm BST, but be sure to check out and support all the other streams too!
During #WiredLive we sat down with Rosie, Sarah and Jake from Safe In Our World to talk about their #SaferTogether campaign, their May fundraiser as well as the challenges that are encountered on a daily basis within gaming:
Safe in Our World is a Mental Health Charity for Gamers, who Wired Productions are proud to support. Their main goal is to create and foster worldwide mental health awareness within the video game industry and beyond; to eliminate the stigma surrounding mental health, to make it a natural topic of discussion, and to promote the dialogue surrounding mental health so people are not afraid to reach out for help if they need it.
Officially unveiled in 2019 on World Mental Health Day, Safe In Our World is an accredited charity supported by industry luminaries, veterans and ambassadors across the world, and its mission is to create an online destination where people can seek help, gain access to resources and information, and discover stories from real people within and surrounding the games industry.
