Dominick Diamond Plays the Arcade Paradise Beta

PANTS!

Say this to any Retro Gamer in the UK and your mind is immediately drawn to Video Game Royalty Dominick Diamond.
Over the weekend, he washed his enormous pants in the Arcade Paradise Beta.
and even more than that he wrote about it in his

Dominik’s Little Old Purple Column

What did he think about Arcade Paradise?

“Now I don’t know if it will get tedious after a while, but I got to say if the beta wasn’t closed? It would be the first game I’d fire up after work. It’s original, it’s got that elusive comedy wit and cool thing I was talking about by the bucketload. So well done Nosebleed Interactive and Wired Productions cos I think you are onto something here”

To sum it up. He thinks Arcade Paradise is NOT Pants!

You might be wondering why this means so much to us. The simple truth is Dominick Diamond was the host of GAMESMASTER from 1992 to 1998. (We won’t talk about the Dexter Fletcher year.) and the king of double entendres and sexual innuendos. This was the biggest videogame show the UK has ever seen and is etched on every retro gamer’s memory. We all dreamed of getting our hands on a Golden Joystick. Still the pinnacle of video game achievement.

Particular highlights were Dominick getting married to “Saturday Night.” songstress Whigfield.

Take That playing Bomberman

and the “Infamous” Dave Perry meltdown.
