Once Wired, Always Wired: Gareth Williams departs

Gareth Williams leaves Wired today in a mutually planned departure, following 15 months of supporting Wired through a period of growth in games and people.

Gareth came into the company to support us as Head of Publishing, whilst also working closely with us as he grew his own start-up, PressEngine. During this time, we’ve helped each other understand opportunities, with Gareth learning more about publishing to enhance his PressEngine, whilst supporting Wired in growing our PR department and the resources / experience we have available.

Gareth will be taking some immediate time out to rest, before focusing fully on PressEngine, which Wired will continue to champion as a founding partner, because we believe PressEngine can singlehandedly democratise effective public relations. We thank Gareth for his contribution and are very proud of the team we now have, that Gareth helped build. We are excited to continue to support PressEngine, where Wired will have a dedicated and branded portal, alongside a brand new Media portal that Wired have been creating for the past several months – more details on that soon.

As part of this planned departure, we recently revealed that we had signed Dead Good Media as our global PR and Influencer partner. They bring in a high level of experience, that alongside our new internal PR team, puts us in our strongest position ever. The internal PR department will be housed within the Marketing team, led by Neil Broadhead.
